Life Fighters Football Club spokesperson Terry Ujamba has lauded the football club for having secured important victories over the past few weeks.

The spokesperson has, however, warned against complacency, saying that the club still has room for improvement.

The Otjiwarongo-based side are currently seated in the third position of the table after a start of mixed results.

Ujamba hopes that the team can go into the upcoming break maintaining their position.

“To say we are happy will mean complacency, and we have to guard against that at all times.

“It is, however, a youthful side that can still go three gears up because we do believe that they have the full potential to do that.

“We are working as a collective group to make sure that we are in a better space going forward,” Ujamba said.

The Life Fighters have collected 12 points from the six Premier League matches they have played so far.

The club has won four matches while losing only two so far in a season that was expected to be tough on players due to little preparation time.

However, it is evident that the football club is gaining momentum ahead of the holiday break.

Life Fighters will be aware that it is still early in the season and the script could be changed at any time.

A job to do

Some of the Premier League giants are yet to start displaying their strength, leaving them at the wrong end of the table.

“Anything can happen in this football league, but our focus is just to continue doing our job to the best of our ability.”

Unity The Life Fighters spokesperson added that unity will be key if the club is to achieve the standards it has set for itself.

As one of the oldest football clubs in the town, ‘Kahirona’ has its sights set on commercialising the club for the benefit of the community.

“We want this club to become beneficial to the community, and that is what we are aiming for.

“There is nothing that beats unity, and we all know what this club means to the community of Otjiwarongo and beyond.

“It is for this reason that our main goal and project are to commercialise the football club and make sure that it benefits the fans and community,” Ujamba noted.

Life Fighters’ next and final game this year will be in Rundu, where they are expected to battle Julinho Sporting FC.

“Our next match will be crucial, and it is away from home as we seek to end the year on a high note.

“Julinho are a dangerous team, which is why we have to be at our very best if we are to come away with a result from that side.”

It is a battle that is expected to test the mettle of the side given the dominance Julinho has showcased at home.
