Junior tennis tournament crowns champions at coast

Junior Tennis Namibia concluded its weekend tournament with new champions.
Adam HartmanThe Junior Tennis Namibia tournament concluded over the weekend in Swakopmund and Walvis Bay, producing new champions across eight categories.
In the U10 boys, Ilan Asindi took gold after a close contest. The U12 boys title went to Joshua Diergaardt.
The U14 boys category saw Steven Gathuru defeat the top seed, while in the U14 girls, top-ranked Emma Brinkmann defended her position.
Walvis Bay hosted the U16 boys, where Daniel Pienaar emerged winner in a round robin format.
The U25 women’s division was dominated by Natalia Ouses, who won all her matches. In the U25 men’s draw, Johan Theron came out tops in a three-set final.
Daniel du Toit of Junior Tennis Namibia said the weekend highlighted both competitiveness and sportsmanship.
“Overall, I want to thank all the players and the parents for all the effort for coming down this weekend in Swakopmund. The tournament was amazing,” he said.
