Brian Munango

Zambia has claimed top honours at the 2026 Southern Africa Inter-Revenue Administration Games (SAIRAG), held over the Easter weekend in Swakopmund, Namibia. The Zambia Revenue Authority (ZRA) represented the country at the two-day event, which took place on 4 and 5 April.

The games brought together revenue agencies from across the region, with Namibia, Lesotho, Eswatini, Botswana, South Africa, Angola, and Zambia all participating. Zambia not only topped the overall standings but was also recognised as the Most Cheerful team, a testament to their enthusiasm and team spirit. The ZRA team competed in every sporting discipline on offer, delivering strong performances across the board.

Speaking at the closing ceremony, Namibia Revenue Agency (NamRA) Commissioner Sam Shivute encouraged participants to channel the same winning mentality displayed on the sports field into achieving sustained success in tax revenue collection across the region. The event also marked a passing of the baton, with Eswatini Revenue Services (ERS) announced as hosts for the 2027 SAIRAG Games.
