Teqball hits Eros Primary fields

The sports field at Eros Primary School transformed into a high-energy arena on Friday as the Teqball Namibian Federation introduced one of the world’s fastest-growing developmental sports to eager learners.

Fusing elements of association football and table tennis, Teqball is played on a specialised curved table with a solid central barrier.

Players pass a standard football back and forth using any part of their bodies except their hands and arms, adhering to a strict three-touch maximum before returning the ball over the net.

The fast-paced discipline demands absolute precision, focus and complete mastery of body alignment, offering learners an intensive full-body workout that rapidly builds agility, balance and spatial awareness.

Federation representatives were on-site to demonstrate advanced rallies and guide learners through the fundamentals.

“This sport enhances competitiveness and fundamental athletic skills right here in Namibia,” said teqball coach Ramah Mumba.

“The Teqball Namibian Federation is taking off, and we are making sure this discipline brings fresh energy and active fitness into our schools.”

As the federation expands its nationwide reach, school fields like the one at Eros Primary are leading a new era for physical education, positioning Namibian youth athletes for future success on the global stage.
