RCFA Namibia dominates Jungle War XIII in South Africa

Namibia has once again made headlines on the international combat sports stage, as RCFA Namibia delivered a stellar performance at the Jungle War XIII Tournament recently held at the Emerald Casino in Vanderbijlpark. The Namibian team claimed 1 962 points, outperforming competitors from South African provinces, Zimbabwe and the USA. This marks the second consecutive year that Namibia has topped this prestigious event, underscoring the country’s rising profile in martial arts.

A nation represented with excellence

Namibia fielded three teams: the national team, development team, and invitational team, comprising 41 fighters who displayed remarkable skill and determination. The teams brought home a total of 209 medals: 98 gold, 72 silver and 39 bronze. In addition, ten Namibian officials officiated at the tournament, reinforcing the nation’s reputation for professionalism in the sport.



Tournament highlights

The competition featured 314 entrants: South Africa – 268, Namibia – 41, Zimbabwe – 4 and the USA – 1. Namibia dominated the rankings across multiple tiers, placing six fighters in the top 10, 11 in the top 20, 16 in the top 30 and 21 in the top 40, consistently outperforming competitors and demonstrating the depth and strength of the nation’s fighters.

This year’s triumph follows Namibia’s record-breaking showing at the 2024 Jungle War International Championships, where the nation won 60 gold, 55 silver and 25 bronze medals against competitors from South Africa, Zimbabwe, Madagascar, Réunion and Cameroon. Seven Namibian fighters ranked in the top ten overall, with six in the top six and all gold medallists were recognised as Southern African champions.

“RCFA Namibia is putting our country on the international map,” said RCFA leadership. “Through discipline, development and determination, our athletes are proving that Namibia can compete and win on the global stage.” With clubs in Windhoek, Rehoboth, Mariental, Swakopmund and Otjiwarongo, RCFA continues to nurture athletes from youth to adulthood, encouraging excellence both in and out of the ring.



Next stop: RCFA World Championships 2026

Namibia is preparing for the first-ever RCFA World Championships, to be held at the Emerald Casino in South Africa, from 1 to 3 April next year, with a strong team ready to build on this year’s international success and raise the Namibian flag high once more.
