Quiver Volleyball Club hangs onto slender lead

Volleyball fans were treated to ten action-packed matches in the country's South last weekend.The remaining games of the Southern Volleyball Association (SVA) men's first leg and second leg were played over two days at the Lüderitz Secondary School Hall in the harbour town. The league is contested by six teams.
Defending champions Quiver Volleyball Club (QVC) are currently placed at the top with 19 points from six wins and two losses after eight games and the conclusion of the weekend’s action. QVC scored 688 points and conceded 592 points. Oranjemund Volleyball Club (OVC) follows in hot pursuit, with 18 points from six wins and two losses. OVC scored 671 points and conceded 624 points. Keetmanshoop Volleyball Club (KVC) is placed in third position with 12 points. They won four and suffered four defeats. KVC scored 649 and conceded 558 points. Maltahohe Volleyball Club (MVC), having played only four games, occupies the fourth position on the log with seven points from three wins and three defeats. MVC scored 506 points and conceded 558 points. Bucht Volleyball Club (BVC) is placed in fifth position with six points. BVC registered two wins and suffered six defeats. They scored 568 points and conceded 641 points. Hoachanas Volleyball Club (HVC) is placed at the bottom of the log in the sixth position with four points and having played six games. They scored 447 points and conceded 495 points.
Results - OVC defeated BVC 3-0 in the first match. QVC defeated KVC 3-0. BVC defeated KVC 3-0. OVC defeated QVC 3-2 in a tightly contested encounter. QVC bounced back and defeated BVC 3-0 in their last match. The “on-court” rivalry continued the next day with QVC defeating KVC 3-1 in the first match. OVC defeated BVC 3-0, KVC defeated BVC 3-0, OVC defeated QVC 3-0 and KVC defeated OVC 3-1 in their last match. HVC defeated MVC 3-0, with MVC defeating HVC 3-2 in matches played at the Rev P. A. Schmidt Primary School Hall in Maltahohe earlier in the week. The next matches will take place in Hoachanas in August.
