The Ondangwa Town Council Sports Club will host its first-ever Ondangwa run on 27 September, featuring road races over 5km, 10km, 15km and 21km.

Town spokesperson Petrina Shitalangaho-Mutikisha said the historic event is aimed at promoting healthy living, fostering community engagement and instilling local pride.

“The event is more than just a run - it’s a platform to unite the people of Ondangwa, promote a healthy lifestyle and showcase the town’s vibrant spirit,” said Shitalangaho-Mutikisha.

The race is open to all fitness levels, with categories designed to encourage participation from families, youth and the elderly. Registration fees are set at N$20 for ages 10 to 20, N$50 for ages 21 to 50, with participants over 50 years getting free participation.

As part of the full-day event, healthcare organisations and individuals have been invited to exhibit products, services and innovations at the Ondangwa Trade Fair Centre. Shitalangaho-Mutikisha said this will serve as a platform for wellness, networking and partnership-building.
