The second round of the Africa Golf Confederation (AGC) Region 5 Tournament concluded yesterday with Namibia’s Kyle Johnson maintaining his position as the top performer on the Namibian team and holding onto second place overall.

However, the leaderboard saw a shake-up at the top, with South Africa’s Astin Wade Arthur surging ahead to claim first place.

Arthur fired a superb 8-under-par total of 134 (71 in round one and 63 in round two), overtaking Zimbabwe’s Keegan Shutt, who slipped to third after a second-round 74 brought his total to 136 (-6).

Johnson, meanwhile, remained consistent with a round of 67, bringing his tournament total to 135 (-7).

Among the rest of the Namibian squad, Henry Mudge IV is tied for 8th on 147 ( 5) after carding a 75 in round two.

Team captain Brendam Britten sits in 22nd place on 158 ( 16) following a round of 82, while international debutant Jackson Kawaya is 23rd with a total of 159 ( 17) after shooting 81.
