Capricorn Private Wealth is once again supporting the growth of polo in Namibia as La Muela Polo Club prepares to host its second exhibition match on Saturday, 17 October 2026, at La Muela Polo Estate, just outside Windhoek.

The event follows Namibia’s historic first-ever polo exhibition match on 18 April, when Team La Muela defeated Team Maranatha 8-6 in an entertaining encounter that introduced more than 500 spectators to the speed, skill and spectacle of the equestrian sport.

Building on the success of the inaugural showcase, the upcoming event aims to attract more Namibians to polo while strengthening the country’s growing sporting, lifestyle and tourism calendar.

Tickets are available through WebTickets Namibia, with general admission starting at N$120.

The exhibition will again feature Team Maranatha and Team La Muela, both representing La Muela Polo Club. The line-ups bring together two Namibian players and visiting players from Argentina, Angola, Germany, Poland and South Africa, including three professional polo players from Argentina.

The match will be contested over four seven-minute chukkas, with live commentary explaining the rules and action to help spectators follow the game.

At the inaugural event in April, players from Namibia, Europe and Argentina showcased their skills on the newly developed grass field, with professional Argentine riders adding international experience to the occasion.

The debut marked an important milestone for the development of the sport locally, with the event combining competitive action with hospitality, music, food and fashion. It also demonstrated the potential of polo to contribute to Namibia’s sporting and tourism offerings.

Capricorn Private Wealth’s continued support reflects its commitment to partnerships that create distinctive experiences, broaden participation in sport and showcase Namibia as a destination for premium events.

By supporting initiatives that bring together sporting excellence, hospitality and international connections, Capricorn Private Wealth aims to help unlock opportunities for local tourism, enterprise and community engagement.

Guests at Saturday’s event will be welcomed from 11:00, with opening remarks by La Muela Polo Club founder Till Jeske scheduled for after 12:00. The match is set to begin at 12:30, followed by the prize-giving ceremony.

The Embassy of Argentina in South Africa will provide the trophy for the winning team, while NTV will broadcast the match live.

Food and hospitality will form an important part of the occasion, with Zest and Tide 6, led by Chef Heinrich, providing food and beverage experiences. A dedicated VIP hospitality area will feature live cooking stations, while food and drinks will also be available to general admission guests.

Growing polo in Namibia

La Muela Polo Club was established through the efforts of Jeske and his wife, Agnieszka Sambor, who embarked on the ambitious project after developing a passion for the sport during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Jeske previously explained that he had no horse-riding experience when the idea first took shape, but the couple gradually developed their skills and committed themselves to bringing polo to Namibia.

The development of the facility involved importing 24 polo horses from Argentina and spending nearly three years establishing the infrastructure needed to host the sport.

The club now boasts a full-size 5.5-hectare grass field built to international standards, Argentine-style stables and a string of 24 horses imported from Argentina.

Following the inaugural exhibition, Sambor praised the public response, noting the enthusiasm of spectators who followed the match and showed interest in understanding the rules.

The couple also indicated their intention to continue developing the facility, including the construction of additional stables and a clubhouse, while exploring opportunities to host a full tournament involving more teams and professional players.

The inaugural event also attracted government interest, with Deputy Minister of Sport Dino Ballotti praising the initiative as a valuable addition to Namibia’s sporting landscape.

Ballotti highlighted the potential for the sport to contribute to tourism and economic activity, while indicating that discussions could be held around the formal recognition and organisation of polo in Namibia.

The second exhibition therefore comes as La Muela Polo Club continues to build awareness of the sport and establish a foundation for its future development in the country.

With international players returning to the field, live broadcasting and expanded hospitality offerings, Saturday’s showcase will provide another opportunity for spectators to experience polo while supporting the growth of a new sporting attraction in Namibia.
