Namibia’s futsal national team, the Brave Five, is relishing the challenge against Kenya’s Harambee Stars at 19:00 at the MTC Dome in Swakopmund.

The team has been preparing for this match and has all to play for in the first leg of the Africa Cup of Nations (Afcon) 2026 Qualifiers. The arrival of new head coach Marcos Antunes from Portugal has boosted the team’s morale.

The coach says that the team has been preparing well and is gunning for victory.

“We have had good preparations through the week since we started, and I am happy with the progress,” Antunes said.

He added: “I must repeat that we have to get the job done here in Namibia so that we can finish it off in Kenya [during the second leg on 28 January].

“The team will need the support of the fans as it goes into a big match.”

The team that emerges victorious in the tie between the sides will face Libya in the final qualifying match in February, with the eventual winners heading to Morocco in April 2026.

Namibia previously qualified for the futsal Afcon tournament in 2024.

Entrance fees to watch the match at the MTC Dome will be N$50, and it will also be broadcast live on Sport Wrap TV from 18:50.
