De Gouveia, Pitout claim Nedbank honours
De Gouveia produced 44 points to win the men’s division, while Pitout claimed the ladies’ title with 42 points.
Grant Mather, Simon Thompson, Wynand Breytenbach Snr and Joao Borges finished second to fifth in the men’s division. In the ladies’ section, Rina Knight, Mariena Ludwig, Estelle Bothma and Suene Venter completed the top five.
In last Wednesday’s competition, Herman Smidt took first place with 20 points, followed by visiting Dutch player Emile Vilbert on 19. Shane finished third on 17 points after winning the count-out.
Thursday’s seniors competition was won by Peter Davidson with 35 points. Hoffie Viljoen and Bossie Bosman followed on 32 points each, with Viljoen taking second place.
The club’s annual Chain Fundraiser takes place on Friday, with players asked to be at the club by 10:00. The draw will be circulated in due course.
Saturday’s programme features the Concord 3-ball Alliance Yellow Ball Day, which remains one of the highlights of the club’s calendar.
Players in the DMSS Matchplay have also been reminded to complete their matches before 1 October.
Buddy Bramwel’s name was drawn in the latest Joker Draw, but the Joker remained in the pack. Another draw will take place on Friday.
The upcoming programme includes the Multisave Medal on 19 September, Greens Maintenance competitions on 21 and 26 September, and the Greenkeepers Revenge on 3 October.
