CIF Golf Classic 2026 takes its place on Namibia’s golfing calendar
The Construction Industries Federation of Namibia (CIF) has confirmed the return of the CIF Golf Classic 2026, set to take place on Friday, 24 April 2026 at the Windhoek Golf Club, as the event continues to cement its status on the country’s golfing and corporate calendar.
Following the success of its inaugural edition, the 2026 tournament has already attracted strong backing from across the construction industry and wider business community.
Hardrock Earthworks returns as naming rights sponsor, with additional support from Ohorongo Cement, City Concrete, Putzmeister, and Build It, alongside several other industry partners.
The CIF Golf Classic brings together contractors, suppliers, and business leaders for a day that blends competitive golf with networking opportunities. This year’s format will be a Two-Ball Alliance, featuring a scramble drive and shotgun start, with two scores counting per hole. Each player is required to contribute a minimum of six drives to ensure balanced participation.
CIF CEO Bärbel Kirchner said the tournament is quickly establishing itself as an important industry platform.
“The CIF Golf Classic is steadily finding its place as an event that brings the industry together in a more informal but highly valuable setting,” she said. “We are encouraged by the level of support from sponsors and participants, and we look forward to building on this foundation in the years ahead.”
Hardrock Earthworks managing director Johan van Wyk also highlighted the importance of the event in strengthening business relationships within the sector.
“As a company operating at the heart of Namibia’s construction sector, Hardrock Earthworks recognises the importance of platforms that bring the business community together,” he said. “The CIF Golf Classic has quickly established itself as one such platform, and we are proud to support its continued growth as naming rights sponsor.”
The tournament will tee off with a shotgun start at 10h30, followed by an evening prize-giving ceremony and networking function.
This year’s edition features a prize pool valued at approximately N$163,000 for the top 10 teams, including a premier golf tour experience in South Africa, luxury getaways, and high-quality golf equipment.
A highlight of the day will be the Hole-in-One Challenge, sponsored by WV Manufacturing, offering a prize worth N$100,000 on Hole 9. Additional on-course competitions include Closest-to-the-Pin (sponsored by Pupkewitz Megabuild) and Longest Drive (sponsored by Coastal Hire Windhoek).
Team entries remain open at N$10,000 per team (excluding VAT), which includes a golf cart, welcome gifts, and full access to the event programme. A maximum of 22 teams will be accommodated, with 20 already confirmed, leaving limited spaces available.
