The Tsumeb Golf Club is set to host the prestigious Bank Windhoek Northern Open on Saturday and Sunday, welcoming top amateur players from across Namibia for two days of competitive play and camaraderie.

With the course in exceptional condition, players can expect a challenging, yet rewarding experience on the fairways and greens. The tournament, a key fixture on the Namibian Amateur Golf Union (NAGU)’s order of merit, continues to grow in stature, drawing seasoned competitors and rising stars alike.

Last year’s edition saw Kyle Johnson of Walvis Bay Golf Club clinch the overall gross title with a score of 146, narrowly edging out Elias Mulombwelwa of Windhoek Golf Club.

Local talent also shone brightly, with Jackson Kawaya of Tsumeb claiming the overall nett win and several divisional victories going to players from Tsumeb, Grootfontein and Windhoek.

This weekend, anticipation is high as familiar names return to defend their titles and new contenders aim to make their mark. The tournament will feature multiple divisions—A-D, ensuring inclusive competition across all skill levels.

Beyond the leader board, the event promises a festive atmosphere, with the Tsumeb Golf Club community rallying behind the players and sponsors. Bank Windhoek’s continued support underscores its commitment to fostering sporting excellence and community engagement in northern Namibia.
