Moses Pleads for Support Ahead of Boxing Event

Namibian boxing promoter and trainer Imms Moses is appealing to corporate Namibia and the Ministry of Sport to support his upcoming boxing event.

The founder of AC Boxing Promotion is set to host a tournament on 16 August, which will include a title fight headlined by Flame ‘Special One’ Nangolo.

However, Moses expressed his frustration over the lack of support from both the private sector and government.

“It is really difficult for me as a promoter because we do not receive the necessary backing, and this is incredibly frustrating.

I think the president of Namibia, as well as those in senior positions, must recognise our struggles and support us.

It is sad that we are trying to put Namibia on the map, yet our efforts often go unnoticed,” Moses said.

The promoter went on to thank those who have supported him, even in small ways.

In many instances, he has had to dig deep into his own pockets to stage boxing events.

“Big companies like MTC do sponsor other stables, but they do not want to sponsor us.

It is for this reason that I am pleading with them, and with anyone in a position to help, to lend a helping hand,” he added.

Nangolo to Return in Two Weeks

Undefeated WBO Africa Super Featherweight Champion, Flame Nangolo (13-0), has been undergoing a high-intensity training camp at the prestigious Knucklehead Gym in Las Vegas, USA.

Nangolo has been sparring with world-class fighters, including American star Regis Prograis — a former WBA super lightweight champion (2019) and WBC titleholder from 2022 to 2023. He is also training alongside undefeated Top Rank prospect DJ Zamora and Mayweather Promotions’ rising star Camel Motton.

“I can confirm that Flame has been doing well in training and is ready to return to Namibia.

I have been informed that he has improved in many areas since beginning his training in the USA, and he will be returning in two weeks,” Moses noted.
