DSFA unveil new kit ahead of second division debut
D.S. Football Academy’s (DSFA) ambitious rise through the country’s football ranks took another confident step when they recently unveiled their first-team kit.
The kit was sponsored by Namibia Construction, with the handover ceremony held at the company’s headquarters in Windhoek.
The handover doubled as a celebration, as the academy marked three years since its establishment in January, while its senior side also secured promotion from the Khomas Third Division to the Second Division.
DSFA chairman Jorge da Purificação thanked the sponsors, describing it as a proud moment for the club.
“Namibia Construction’s belief in our vision and youth development means a lot. Our boys will wear these kits with pride,” he said.
Da Purificação added that the partnership is not just about shirts, but about helping the club grow “responsible young men”.
DSFA operations director Jason Shikomba explained that the academy’s first team will make its Second Division debut in the new strip.
“Our proud sponsors have blessed us with one of the premier kits in football today,” he said.
‘Dream to get children off the streets’
Club co-founder and technical director Dokkies Schmidt reflected on the club’s humble beginnings in 2023, recalling when they “had a dream to get children off the streets”.
Fast forward to today, the academy runs teams from U7 level through to the senior side.
Schmidt said the decision to move the U17 team out of the HopSol Youth League and into senior football has paid off, as they battled their way to Second Division promotion.
“We’re looking forward to representing both Namibia Construction and the DSFA brand for many years to come,” he said, urging the youngsters to view the community’s support as motivation.
Company representative Sylvester Beukes said the collaboration fits well with their values.
“This initiative is not only about handing over playing kits, but also about investing in young people and contributing to a future filled with opportunity,” he said.
A message from managing director Hans Peter Schulz, read in his absence, emphasised that a strong community is built on what people invest in one another.
The club’s new kits feature sky blue, white and yellow for the outfield players, with a scintillating pink strip for the goalkeeper.
