Eeshoke Chula Chula FC coach John Sikerete remains confident in his team ahead of their trip to Rundu for the Debmarine Namibia Premiership matches.

The team will face Cuca Tops and Julinho Sporting this weekend in what is expected to be a tough trip to the north-east of the country.

They will first face Cuca Tops on Saturday before completing their double-header weekend against Julinho on Sunday.

Speaking to Sport Wrap yesterday, the coach expressed confidence in the team as they prepare to travel to Rundu.

“I think we are confident that the team can get points from Rundu, given that we have been preparing well ahead of the trip.

“We know that Julinho and Cuca Tops matches will not be a walk in the park, but the boys will go there fighting.

“The truth is that we will probably not win the league, but our aim is to finish in a higher position,” Sikerete said.

Chula Chula are currently lingering in seventh position from the 25 matches they have played so far.

The team has won eight of their Premiership matches, while losing only four this season.

Sikerete’s biggest concern this season has been that his charges have dropped two points on 13 occasions — the most of any team in the Premiership so far.

The coach has attributed the team’s numerous draws to a lack of goal-scoring in their fixtures.

The team has scored 21 goals in the Premiership while conceding 16.

“I think our defending has been good this season, but we need to improve on our attacking, because we have not been able to kill games as we would have wanted to.

“The fact that we have only four defeats this season says a lot about our resilience, but we need to work harder.”

Chula Chula lost most of their players to other teams during the opening transfer window, and Sikerete had to work with many new players.

He has, however, expressed satisfaction with the fact that most of the new players have settled in well.
