Buccaneers extend Kanalelo's stay

Bucks Buccaneers have extended the contract of head coach Ronnie Kanalelo for a further two years, the club announced in a statement yesterday.The former African Stars coach, who joined the Buccaneers midway through last season following his departure from the league champions, is credited with turning the club’s fortunes around.
“The Bucks Buccaneers are pleased to announce the extension of head coach Ronnie Kanalelo’s contract for an additional two years. Since taking over the reins midway through last season, Kanalelo has demonstrated exceptional leadership and strategic insight, steering the team away from relegation danger and guiding them to a respectable 10th-place finish,” the club said in a statement.
At the time of his appointment, the team was in 14th place on the Premiership log after 15 matches, with just two wins, six losses and seven draws.
Bucks boss pleased
Club chairperson Charles !Naruseb expressed his satisfaction with Kanalelo’s continued involvement, citing the coach’s alignment with the club’s long-term vision.
“Ronnie understands our vision and the project we are building. His ability to inspire and improve the team makes him the right candidate for this role, and we are confident in his ability to lead the Buccaneers to future success,” !Naruseb said.
Kanalelo, a former Brave Warriors goalkeeper and assistant coach, previously led African Stars to the 2023/24 Premiership title as well as the PstBet Namibia Football Association (NFA) Cup, before parting ways with the club under acrimonious circumstances.
