Brave Warriors head to Astana, Kazakhstan, from March to April for the 2026 Fifa Series.

The Brave Warriors will travel to Astana, Kazakhstan, in March and April 2026, to compete in the 2026 International Federation of Association Football (Fifa) Series, following the official release of the tournament’s match schedule.

Building on the successful pilot edition in 2024, this expanded Series brings together 48 national teams, representing nearly a quarter of Fifa's 211 Member Associations, in 12 groups of four teams each, with all six confederations represented.

The Fifa Series, approved by the Fifa Council in December 2022, is fully aligned with Fifa's Strategic Objectives for the Global Game: 2023 to 2027.

Its purpose is to facilitate meaningful international friendlies between national teams from different confederations that would not normally compete against each other, supporting football development both on and off the pitch.

The 2026 edition will see 11 Fifa Member Associations host matches, with Rwanda staging two groups, and all fixtures broadcast to a global audience, providing greater visibility for participating nations.

Though all matches are classified as international friendlies, Participating Member Associations have agreed on formats that ensure a competitive edge.

Matches ending in draws will proceed directly to a penalty shoot-out, with no extra time played, and each group will produce a group winner, offering valuable experience for all teams involved.


Namibia’s fixtures and timetable

According to the official Fifa Series match schedule released last month, Namibia’s scheduled fixtures in Astana are as follows, all times local:


25 March

Kuwait vs Namibia, kick-off around 20:00 at Astana Arena.

28 March

The second round of matches will see either the winners or losers of the group’s other ties meet, with Namibia’s precise opponent and kick-off time determined by the earlier results in the group.


Squad and preparations

Head coach Collin Benjamin has named a 33-man provisional squad, composed largely of locally based players. The team will focus on tactical cohesion, match fitness, and integration of emerging talent ahead of their first international assignment of the year.

The Fifa Series provides Namibia with a platform to test players against international opposition from different confederations, enhance tactical flexibility, and raise the nation’s football profile on a global stage, while laying the groundwork for future qualifiers and continental competitions.
