Blue Waters coach Armando Pedro is optimistic his team can pull off a win if they finish off their chances against fellow premiership outfit Eeshoke Chula Chula in the round of 16 of the PstBet NFA Cup.

The coastal side will be hoping to get their first victory over an opponent that has become a bogey assignment for them.

The two teams face off on Sunday at the Independence Stadium in what is expected to be a clash of the titans.

“I think this will be a match in which we need to take our chances at all cost if we want to progress to the next round.

“We are a team that creates chances quite often, but our problem has been converting them at many occasions.

“This is however a cup tie and we know that a defeat will mean that we will not progress to the next round,” Pedro said.

Blue Waters and Chula Chula have met on two occasions since the latter’s prmotion to this season of the Debmarine Premier Football League. The coastal team has failed to beat the newcomers on both occasions.

The Oshakati combination have held Blue Waters to 0-0 in their first outing at the northern venue, before beating them 2-0 in the return fixture at Walvis Bay.

To the Blue Waters coach, these results inspires his confidence that this side will go out all guns blazing in order to take revenge on a team that has proven difficult to beat so far.

“We will not underestimate Chula, because we know their potential and what they can do if we miss our chances.

“They have beaten us once already this season, but we will give them a different game.

“The boys are well prepared and fired up and we will try hard to get the victory,” Pedro added.

The NFA Cup round of 16 will be opened by games between Swakopmund FC and Civics on Saturday at the Unam Stadium at 14:00.

Unam FC and LK United will then battle it out at 16:00 in what is expected to be an electric clash.

The PstBet NFA Cup also features two matches at the Omulunga Stadium in Grootfontein on Sunday.
