Cohen FC to host season’s fifth tournament

The fifth fistball tournament of the season will be hosted by Cohen FC this coming weekend. A total of 16 teams will compete across four categories. The action begins on Friday afternoon with the U13 and U18 juniors, while the adult competition kicks off on Saturday at 08:30.

In the U13 category, two teams from SKW will face one team from CFC. So far, the Green-Whites have always managed to secure the title in this age group.

The U18 division will see SFC A, CFC A, and two SKW teams battle for the crown. The Royal Blues of SFC, winners of the past two tournaments, remain the team to beat.

In Category A, the hosts CFC will field two teams, joined by two each from SKW and SFC. With five wins in five tournaments, the CFC first team once again enters as the top favourite. Both SFC 1 and CFC 2 have already reached two finals this season. Playing at home, CFC 2 will be looking to make the most of their advantage, though stiff competition awaits.

The Category B field has shrunk compared to the season opener in February, when seven teams took part. This weekend, only three sides will compete: two teams from SKW and CFC 3. With four wins in five tournaments, SKW 3 enters as the clear frontrunner for the title.

As is tradition, the national youth, women’s and men’s squads will round off the weekend with a training session on Sunday.
