WHS Old Boys Cricket Club handed over a financial contribution to each of its six players who were selected for the FNB Eagles touring squad that will represent Namibia at the upcoming ICC T20 World Cup in India and Sri Lanka.

WHS Old Boys, the current holder of Cricket Namibia’s T20 premier league title with a narrow last-ball victory over APS Wanderers, have six players in the touring squad that departed from Windhoek late last week to a pre-tournament training camp in Dubai.

FNB Eagles captain Gerhard Erasmus is joined by his club mates Alexander Volschenk (the official travelling reserve), Dylan Leicher, Jack Brassell, Louren Steenkamp and Malan Kruger.

Steenkamp is a new addition, while the others were all part of the 2024 T20 World Cup squad to the West Indies. Erasmus has been the national captain at each of Namibia’s previous three T20 World Cup participations, since their debut at Emirates 2021.

The club’s chairperson Leon Fouché and team manager JW Prinsloo were present during the presentation.

WHS Old Boys Cricket Club expressed appreciation to its sponsors, Afri-Track Group (ATG Namibia) and Thirsti, without whom this gesture would not have been possible.
