The visiting Cricket South Africa’s Emerging Women’s Academy took a one-nil lead in their four-match T20 series against the Capricorn Eagles on Wednesday afternoon. The South Africans (142/9) won by 38 runs after restricted the hosts to 109/8. Eliz Marie Marx (28 off 22 balls) and Delmari Tucker (29 off 22 balls) top-scored for the South African side, before their captain Leah Jones was named player of the match when she swung the match with four wickets for eight runs (15 dot balls) in three overs. Eagles captain Suné Wittmann (20 off 27), number five Mekelaye Mwatile (28 off 31 balls) and number seven Edelle van Zyl (30 off 22 balls, 4x4 1x6) performed best among the Namibian batters.
