Tsaraxa Aibes Open Tournament crown winners

Knightly Chess Academy in Mariental recently hosted an unrated Tsaraxa Aibes Open rapid tournament, funded by coach Naletti Nkonkwena to encourage the growth of chess in the town.
The Open section was won by Revian Willemse, who dominated ahead of Naftal Helao and Tangos Nangolo in second and third place, respectively.
In the Junior boys’ section, Theo Rossouw took the overall title, followed by second-placed Mario Boois and third-placed Ethan Katzao.
Annemie dominated the Junior section to emerge as the event winner, followed by Amoricha Boois in second and Jo-Mari Thompson in third place.
Cadet prize winners included Victory Wilhelm in first place, Andy Boois in second and Isaiah Motinga in third.
Outstanding individual performances were also recognised, with Eddy Isaack named Best Local Player and Frans Hochobeb honoured as Best Senior Player.
Organisers called on potential partners and sponsors to come on board and help grow the sport in Mariental.
