Boxing
The MTC Nestor Sunshine Boxing and Fitness Academy, co-sponsored by PstBet, has announced that it will host a WBO Africa title fight in November.Deemed “Redemption”, the WBO title fight will take place on 8 November at the Windhoek Country Club.
Namibia’s Mateus Heita will face the tough Clement Leko from Benin for the vacant WBO Africa Featherweight title.
“This is a chance for Heita to redeem himself following his world title defeat in the United States,” said Tobias.
“The boxer still has so much to offer, and I have no doubt in his ability to win his next fight. We have been ensuring that his preparations are going well, and he looks strong and ready to fight.”
Heita’s last bout was a loss in a world title fight at Madison Square Garden in July, where he went up against American featherweight Bruce ‘Shu Shu’ Carrington. He lost by unanimous decision in a WBC interim World title contest.
“Mateus ‘The Beast’ Heita lost a very competitive fight in Madison Square Garden, one of the most famous venues in the world,” Tobias said. “That has not deterred him from wanting to fight and perform on the global stage. The fight was for the WBC interim Featherweight world title against one of the top prospects in the world, Bruce Carrington, who is also a Ring Magazine ambassador and the new world champion. Both boxers were in excellent shape, studied each other well, and fought hard on the night.”
The evening will also feature Paulinus “John John” Ndjolonimus, who lost a controversial fight on 19 July 2025 in Germany against Simon Libichhuber.
Ndjolonimus will face the dangerous Snamiso Ntuli from South Africa for the vacant WBO Africa Super Middleweight title over 12 rounds.
“This is a must-win fight for Ndjolonimus, as he is coming off a defeat. He has the potential to go far, and we believe that giving him this fight is important for his career. A defeat in this fight is not an option, which is why we are preparing him thoroughly,” Tobias said.
The fight night will also include undefeated Harry Simon Jnr, who will face Paul Kamanga from the DRC.
“Kamanga is an experienced boxer based in South Africa, and this will be a good challenge for Harry Jnr. He is also a talented boxer, and there is no doubt that he will perform well. The two fighters will go head-to-head in an international welterweight bout over 10 rounds.”
The event on 8 November 2025 will be promoted by MTC Sunshine under the banner “No Pain, No Gain”.
“It will be sponsored by our main sponsor MTC – Make the Connection and co-sponsored by PstBet – You Play, We Pay. This will be one of the biggest and most exciting fight nights of the year.”
Tickets will be N$200 for general admission, while a VIP table for 10 guests will cost N$20,000.
“Let us also thank our main sponsor MTC and our co-sponsor PstBet for their tremendous support. With more sponsors, we believe we can produce many fighters to represent our beloved country on the international stage.”
