Thirteen Namibians are looking to convert their talent and dedication into continental medals.

A team of eight boys and five girls have qualified to represent Athletics Namibia at the Confederation of African Athletics (CAA) U18 and U20 African Championships that will be held in Abeokuta, Nigeria, from 16 to 20 July.

A total of 943 athletes from 43 countries are expected at the third edition of the continental championship.

The selected athletes had their official send-off at the Namibian Sports Commission on Friday, before departing to Nigeria yesterday.

The athletes will be accompanied by Madeleine Kotze (team manager) and Nomin Lucas (coach).
