Warriors to play friendly against Bafana

The Namibia Football Association’s Cassius Moetie confirmed over the weekend that the Brave Warriors of Namibia will face Bafana Bafana in an international friendly on 9 September.

With the Africa Cup of Nations (Afcon) and 2026 Fifa World Cup qualifiers on the horizon, Bafana Bafana will begin preparations with four international friendlies in September and October.

Bafana, who qualified for Afcon, will host Namibia first in September, DR Congo on 12 September and Eswatini on 13 October.

Still to be determined

The South African Football Association's CEO, Lydia Monyepao, also confirmed the matches, stating that they are in support of Bafana Bafana coach Hugo Broos as he continues with his preparation for the Afcon at the beginning of next year and the start of the 2026 Fifa World Cup qualifiers in November this year.

Match venues are expected to be confirmed in the coming weeks.

On the other hand, the Brave Warriors of Namibia await their qualification fate as Cameroon and Burundi still have a match to play in November, which will determine whether Namibia qualifies for Afcon.
