QBC Closing in on KBA Premier League Title
Premier League Finals: Quality Basketball Club 90 – 85 UNAM Wolves
Quality Basketball Club once again proved the better side when it mattered most, overturning early series struggles to level the best-of-seven Premier League finals at 3–2.
Wolves had taken the early advantage with wins in the opening two games (102–94 and 86–83), but QBC responded fiercely — first dominating Game 3 (96–77) and then securing a clutch Game 4 victory to swing the momentum.
QBC led almost the entire game (39 minutes and 54 seconds), at one point stretching the gap to 24 points (59–35).
Their offense thrived on fast breaks (25 points) and turnover conversions (31 points).
Star forward Aires delivered a monster double-double of 20 points and 25 rebounds, while Amor contributed 14 points and 8 assists. Captain Samuel W. added 15 points and 5 rebounds, setting the tone with leadership on both ends.
Wolves’ efforts were led by Sinvalo B. (33 points) and Kevin K. (23 points, 22 rebounds), but their poor three-point shooting (just 14.8%) and lack of bench scoring (16 points) ultimately cost them.
The Wolves now face a must-win Game 5 tomorrow at 21:00 to keep their championship hopes alive.
Elsewhere, UNAM Phoenix clinched their fourth consecutive women’s title, while Team Allies captured the Second Division crown after an unbeaten playoff run.
Division 1 Finals: UNAM Penguins 95 – 68 NUST Gladiators
Earlier in the evening, UNAM Penguins showcased dominance in their Division 1 Finals encounter, dismantling NUST Gladiators 95–68 to take a 3–2 series lead.
The Penguins’ balanced attack was unstoppable — they scored 58 points in the paint and forced 21 turnovers, converting those into fast-break points that kept NUST chasing throughout.
Denzel K. led the charge with 21 points, 9 rebounds, and 5 assists, while Maurice F. added 14 points and 15 rebounds in a commanding inside performance.
Off the bench, Heri provided valuable production with 20 points.
For NUST, Jason H. (21 points) fought hard, but the Gladiators struggled offensively — shooting just 29.4% from the field and 15.4% from three.
Penguins held the lead for almost the entire match (37 minutes and 46 seconds), peaking with a 30-point advantage (95–65) late in the fourth quarter.
Game 6, scheduled for Friday, 10 October 2025, is a must-win for NUST to force a Game 7 decider.
